The Aloft at Hermès exhibition space celebrates its tenth anniversary with a new exhibition cycle. "Reflection". Between the time spent considering what has been achieved for the future and the reflection in a mirror. Two artists shed a light on this theme.

"I think we should take a moment to think about our past achievements and decide of those to come. Additionally, a reflection is also the image produced by a mirro, so that made me think about what we wanted to show the public to best reflect the ethics of the Foundation." Curator Emi Eu chose to unravel this theme in 2017, through a cycle of two exhibitions.

Minjung Kim unveals "Oneness". Mountains in ink. Black and shades of black. Red and shades of red. Infinite landscapes on Mulberry Hanji paper. The artist outlines her canvases, the paint brush becomes the prolongation of her breath. A gesture precise yet intuitive.
She offers to become one with nature, through her own breath. An echo of the serenity of the artist at work. An answer to the theme of the exhibition theme "Reflection". "When I paint on the Korean Hanji paper, I must wait for the right moment to draw my ink lines [...] breathing must be mastered in order to achieve the lines."

Noriko Ambe is the second artist of this exhibition cycle with "(Un)filtered Reflections". She is born in1967 in Saitama, in Japan. The elegant fluidity of the shapes. The artist captures meaning through her decoupage. Thousands of sheets as geological stratum.
